2006 Season - Genesius Guild
Gheon: "The Comedian" (The Story of
Genesius)
The third play is an adaptation of Henri Gheon’s story of
the martyrdom pf St. Genesius, “The Comedian.” The guild first
staged this work at its 25th anniversary and chose to repeat
it as part of its golden anniversary season as a tribute to
its namesake.
Genesius is considered the patron saint of actors, although it
is generally accepted that no such person ever existed. It is
a story of conscience, both artistic and religious, and will
bring together former Genesius Guild members, as well as
beginning actors, in the large cast.
It will also help answer the most frequently asked question
about the guild: “Where did you get your name?”
