Two youngsters in Verona, Italy, fall deeply and passionately in love.
But they are members of two feuding families and must find a way to marry without their parents' knowledge.

This sets in train a series of hasty plots, risky plans, and missed opportunities. The “star-crossed lovers” cannot break free of the hatred which consumes both their families and when all plans miscarry, they take their lives.

It is a poetic wonder: one of Shakespeare's most “musical” and beloved plays.
